  • Offering Islamic education for children, youth, and adults, fostering strong faith and character.
  • Promoting community service and charitable outreach to support those in need, both within and beyond our community.
  • Encouraging interfaith dialogue and collaboration to build mutual understanding, respect, and peaceful coexistence.
  • Supporting the spiritual, social, and emotional well-being of Muslims across the region.

Our Vision

The Islamic Center of Waynesboro envisions becoming a lasting cornerstone of Islamic life in the Shenandoah Valley—one that serves not only the present generation but also those to come.

We aspire to establish:

  • A permanent, fully established Masjid that functions as a hub for worship, learning, and community life.
  • A thriving, united community where families grow together in faith, knowledge, and compassion.
  • A wide range of programs and services that address the spiritual, educational, social, and cultural needs of our diverse community.
  • A welcoming space that reflects the values of Islam and contributes positively to the broader society.

Our History

The Islamic Center of Waynesboro was founded by a small but dedicated group of Muslims who recognized the growing need for a local masjid and community center in Waynesboro and its surrounding areas. With the nearest masjid nearly 30 miles away, many families faced challenges in attending prayers, educating their children, and staying connected to an Islamic environment.

Driven by a shared vision of worship, education, and community engagement, ICW was established as a nonprofit religious organization to serve as a central gathering place for Muslims in the region.

Since its founding, ICW has worked tirelessly to:

  • Maintain regular congregational prayers and Jumu’ah,
  • Provide Qur’an and Islamic studies classes for children,
  • Host community gatherings and events,
  • Engage in outreach and charitable efforts,
  • And actively pursue the goal of securing a permanent home for the masjid.

The Islamic Center of Waynesboro is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible as permitted by law and directly support the establishment of the masjid, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives.
